Take a trip to the stars during these Heritage Days, with exceptional workshops at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace. On September 21 and 22, 2024, the Musée du Bourget is inviting you to take part in a series of unique events based around its collections.

It's an exceptional museum, with an immersive and impressive scenography. A museum that makes visitors dream, with its exceptional exhibits and unusual displays. We're talking, of course, about the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, which awaits us this weekend, Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024!

The Musée du Bourget is offering a special program for the 41st Heritage Days. It's an opportunity to discover our aeronautical heritage, and learn more about this world that inspires so many people, from young children to grown-ups!

The museum's collections and behind-the-scenes areas are revealed bit by bit, thanks to a variety of tours and events that enable us to find out more about the trades and skills involved in the world of air and space.

The 2024 Heritage Days program at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace :

  • Curious objects: it's up to you to solve the mystery!
    September 21 and 22

    Exceptionally taken out of storage, these collections are presented as "curious objects". Guess their function and origin with our mediator.

  • Guided tour: Dassault Mercure 100
    September 21 and 22

    On the tarmac, climb aboard the Dassault Mercure 100 with the IT Mercure association, which has been working to keep the aircraft flying since 1995. An exclusive visit to discover the equipment on this legendary aircraft!

  • Workshop: Sky factors
    Saturday, September 21, 10:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m.

    Travel through capital cities and geographical zones along the lines designed for postal aviation!

  • Planetarium
    September 21 and 22

    The cosmos is often described as serene. Behind this tranquility, however, lie phenomena that are beyond our ordinary terrestrial experience. These are even extreme for the Universe itself. This session will help you discover the mysteries of our Universe!

  • Guided tour of the Normandie Niemen hall
    September 21 and 22

    During the Second World War, the Normandie-Niemen Fighter Regiment fought against Nazism on the Eastern Front. This unit of the Free French Air Force served alongside Russian troops between 1942 and 1945. The Association du Mémorial Normandie-Niemen offers you a guided tour of the permanent exhibition dedicated to this exceptional story. You'll discover the Yak 3, one of the regiment's last aircraft, which landed at Le Bourget on June 20, 1945, to the thunderous applause of a large crowd.

    The Association du Mémorial Normandie-Niemen keeps alive the memory of the members of the Normandie-Niemen squadron - whether they were pilots, mechanics or general service staff. Inaugurated in June 2015 to mark the 70th anniversary of the Liberation, the Normandie-Niemen space at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace now houses the collections entrusted to the association by veterans and their families, in order to pass on to the public the objects and stories of this military epic.

  • Discovery tour

    Discover the collections of the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, a key site in the history of aviation, where many exploits took place, including the first transatlantic crossings. During your visit, discover or rediscover aviation and space, from the first flights to the present day.

  • Guided tour of the Airmen's Memorial
    September 21 and 22

    Since its creation in 2016, the Association du Mémorial des Aviateurs has been conducting a remembrance project in honor of the 20,000 male and female aviators who disappeared in the performance of their mission. To perpetuate the memory of their commitment and pay tribute to them, the AMA conducts historical research and maintains a database listing all those who have disappeared since the birth of military aviation. The Memorial consists of a monument erected in front of the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace and an immersive multimedia space visible inside the museum.
    In this "memorial space", visitors are immersed in a world of images, and can "fly through" the eras, delve deeper into the history of a conflict, take an interest in the aircraft, discover those who fell defending France (1,400 files to date), but also the missions of today's Air and Space Force.

  • Guided tour: Roland Garros: From pre-war aviator to war pilot
    September 21 and 22

    Born on Reunion Island, pre-war sportsman and aviator, record-holder and experimenter, Roland Garros was mobilized on August 02, 1914. He perfected the through-the-propeller firing system and won two aerial victories in the spring of 1915. Captured by the Germans after his plane broke down in May 1915, he escaped in early 1918, after more than two years in captivity, to return to combat with Escadrille SPA 26.   • Special tours of the A380 construction site
    September 21 and 22

    Climb aboard the latest test aircraft in the A380 program! With 3,360 hours of flight time under sometimes extreme conditions, this aircraft is now taking up residence on the museum's tarmac, to be unveiled exceptionally during these two days: it is currently being prepared before being offered to visitors: discover it in preview!

  • Guided tour: Le Bourget, a living heritage at the heart of the Paris airport network
    Sunday, September 22, 2.15pm, 3.30pm, 4.30pm

    In the aftermath of the First World War, the Le Bourget hub welcomed its first passengers and became the first airport in Paris. A century later, this legendary site in the history of aviation has retained its passenger transport vocation, and has also welcomed visitors to the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace since 1975. How has this century-old airport adapted to the needs of air traffic since 1919? What is its role today, now that the capital's commercial aviation has shifted entirely to Orly and Charles de Gaulle? This tour will give you the opportunity to discover or rediscover this important part of our aeronautical heritage, which is still very much alive in an area undergoing a major metamorphosis...
