For the Journées du Patrimoine 2025 in Paris, the capital's historic and artistic monuments and landmarks are opening their doors (often free of charge) to let us in on their secrets. Don't miss this not-to-be-missed event, scheduled for the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025, on the theme of "Architectural Heritage".

For the Journées du Patrimoine 2025 (Heritage Days 2025), taking place on September 20 and 21, a number of sites in the capital are being spotlighted. In Paris, monuments, libraries, secondary schools and high schools join museums in opening their doors to the public, for a day of incredible discoveries!

This year, the focus is on architectural heritage, highlighting the jewels of each region: from the Middle Ages to modern times, Art Nouveau, the Renaissance and the Second Empire, each era and artistic movement has left its mark on France's cities.

Throughout the weekend, guided tours, workshops and many other activities take us behind the scenes of the capital's most famous landmarks, to meet the players behind our heritage, unique in the world.

Many sites across Paris organize guided tours, workshops and other activities to enable us to discover places that are sometimes closed to the public. We can, for example, visit ministries, concert halls, museums, or even companies that are exceptionally opening their doors to us. Among the emblematic sites, some companies linked to transport or navigation will be offering themed tours, enabling us to better understand their historical and contemporary role.

Organized for the first time in 1984, the Journées du Patrimoine have become a key event in the cultural calendar, attracting millions of curious visitors every year. It's a chance to explore places that are often inaccessible, and to better understand the history that surrounds us. It's also an opportunity to celebrate living heritage, through routes and networks that have shaped France and Europe, and to rediscover the essential link between the capital and its maritime heritage.

The Journées du Patrimoine 2025 offer us the opportunity to embark on a cultural journey, taking us along historic routes or along the water's edge, to discover our common heritage.
