The Musée des Arts et Métiers is taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) on Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025, and is offering a free tour and activities that are particularly appealing to children. Discover the program!

As part of the 42nd Heritage Days, the Musée des arts et métiers is offering free tours and events focusing on the world's great inventions, for young and old alike. Join us on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, 2025, to enjoy the program of this new edition of a not-to-be-missed cultural event.

The permanent collection at the Musée des arts et métiers is a big hit with children, because it takes them on a journey through time to discover some of the greatest inventions and techniques in the history of science: scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, mechanics and transport - thousands ofobjects that revolutionized their era are on display in a beautiful building.

In all, the tour is divided into seven collections (scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, and mechanics and transport), subdivided into four chronological periods (before 1750, 1750-1850, 1850-1950 and after 1950). Curious visitors can also discover Lavoisier's laboratory, Foucault's pendulum and the automaton theater.
