Thunderstorms in Paris and Île-de-France: yellow alert this Thursday

The weather is still very unstable, and a risk of thunderstorms is once again forecast for part of France this May 30, 2024. Météo France has placed 40 départements under yellow alert for thunderstorms this Thursday. Paris and the 7 other departments of the Île-de-France region are affected by this alert. This Thursday, a large part of the northern half of France is under a yellow alert forthunderstorms. In detail, Seine-Maritime, Calvados, Orne, Mayenne, Oise, Aisne, Marne, Meuse, Loire and Moselle have been placed on yellow alert for the risk of severe thunderstorms this Thursday.

"As if the rain and cool weather weren't enough, thunderstorms will be the talk of the town this Thursday afternoon over the northern and northeastern parts of the country. They may be accompanied by intense rainfall in a short space of time" announces La Chaîne Météo on its website, adding that"heavy thundery showers" are forecast from the morning"from Normandy to the Pas-de-Calais and in the afternoon from the Paris Basin to the north-east".

Paris and the 7 other departments of the Ile-de-France region (Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d'Oise) have also been placed on yellow alert for thunderstorms by Météo France this May 30.
