Since the announcement of his death, tributes have been pouring in. There have, of course, been those from the Splendid troupe, of which Michel Blanc was an historic member. " The Troupe du Splendid - Josiane Balasko, Marie-Anne Chazel, Christian Clavier, Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte, Bruno Moynot - join together in a single voice to express their immense sorrow at the death of their friend and companion," they wrote in a statement.
" I am so sad and all the memories of Monsieur Hire come back to me. Your kindness, your high standards, your sensitivity and your torments. Our beautiful complicity," wrote Sandrine Bonnaire, who starred with the actor in Patrice Leconte's 1989 film.

Since the announcement of his death on the morning of October 4, TV channels have also been paying tribute to him, shaking up their schedules and re-broadcasting some of his many legendary films. These include, of course, Les Bronzés, in which Michel Blanc played the eternal Jean-Claude Dusse.
