Discover the cultures of Judaism in a different light... This is what the Musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme is offering for the Nuit des Musées 2025. During this not-to-be-missed Parisian springtime event, visitors and night owls are invited to stroll through the museum's aisles, free of charge. It's an opportunity to (re)discover the permanent collections of this establishment located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris.
For over 20 years, this museum has been housed in the stunning Hôtel de Saint-Aignan in the Marais district, showcasing the rich history of Jewish communities across France, Europe, and the Mediterranean. It celebrates their artistic achievements, heritage, and traditions from antiquity to the present day. Today, the museum holds more than 12,000 works of art along with extensive archives.
The Museum of Jewish Art and History offers a compelling glimpse into over two millennia of shared history, while also highlighting the work of contemporary artists.
When night falls, the magic of the artworks takes hold, the museum comes alive, and reveals itself in a new light. It’s the perfect chance to wander its galleries with friends or family and view the collections through a fresh, renewed perspective.
The day after Shavuot, the Jewish festival of Pentecost, artist Tami Notsani probes themes of identity, transmission, and intimacy: can one be secular and still feel attached to religious customs?
Shavuot, the Festival of Weeks celebrating the giving of the Torah to the Hebrews, is also rooted in the agricultural calendar and marks the harvest season. Secular interpretations of the holiday vary and adapt to different cultural and historical contexts, giving it a striking modern resonance.
To celebrate this nature-linked event, the artist invites visitors to craft their own seasonal flower crown according to the colors and symbols that speak to them, then have their photograph taken with their creation, thereby producing a series of portraits that capture this collective moment in harmony with the season of the first harvest.
Le programme est mis à jour en fonction des annonces officielles.
Let your curiosity run riot and come and discover this unique place in Paris, filled with masterpieces of all kinds. The Nuit des Musées is a true cultural celebration for all art and history lovers!
