Horse-drawn omnibuses, buses, trams, trolleybuses… head to the Urban Transport Museum this Saturday May 23, 2026, for a tour with an unusual subject. For this new edition of Nuit des Musées, the museum located in the town of Chelles will open its doors for free for an exceptional evening.
Created in 1957 by theAssociation pour le Musée des Transports Urbains, Interurbains et Ruraux (AMTUIR), this museum boasts an extensive collection of over 130 preserved and maintained vehicles, dating from 1863 to the present day. These life-size vehicles, scale models, models, books, photographs and other historical items take us on a real journey back in time.

Among the vehicles on display are buses and motrice n°1 from the Versailles tramway, horse-drawn omnibuses and tramways, Paris metro cars, mechanical and steam tramways and passenger cars (urban and secondary), electric, rack and pinion and funicular tramways (urban, interurban and secondary), trolleybuses and buses and coaches.
