It's the premier venue for contemporary art in the Chevreuse valley, and it's still open at night on Nuit des Musées: this Saturday, May 18, 2024, come and visit the Musée GRATALOUP Chevreuse.

Housed in the priory of Saint-Saturnin, the Musée GRATALOUP Chevreuse is the first museum dedicated tocontemporary art in the Chevreuse valley. Housed in the ancient vaults of this 11th-century priory, the museum showcases the resolutely modern and innovative works of painter Grataloup.

Three contemporary stained-glass windows, created in collaboration with Ateliers Loire, master glassmakers in Chartres, are on display. These works perfectly symbolize the meeting of tradition and the contemporary, of the sacred and the artistic, that is to be found in this museum.

There are also large-format paintings and sound and light installations projected onto the museum walls. Paintings, sculptures, urban art, objects and drawings are regularly added to the museum's collections, thanks to temporary exhibitions highlighting contemporary artists driven by technical experimentation and invention.

For this 20th edition of the Nuit des Musées, the Musée GRATALOUP Chevreuse opens its doors to us for a special nocturne on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

For this new edition of the European Night of Museums, the Musée GRATALOUP, Centre d'Art Contemporain in Chevreuse, offers you an exceptional evening through a guided tour of the exhibition "Corps Vivant", an exhibition labeled"Cultural Olympiad" by Paris 2024, the committee in charge of organizing the Olympic Games.

    A sensory and immersive experience
"Corps Vivant" is an immersive artistic experience, exploring through the body the themes of freedom, movement, energy and love, in a creative dialogue between two artists, in harmony with the spirit of the Olympic Games.

    GRATALOUP the master of symbolism
In the priory chapel, works by the symbolist painter GRATALOUP celebrate the body/mind synergy through birth, life and death.

Antoinette ROZAN - Mouvement, Paradoxe, Energie, Liberté

In the garden, Antoinette ROZAN has placed her sculptures and hung her calligraphies on the walls in a joyful, colorful choreography. Movement, energy and freedom are the themes she explores in her work. The magic of place or time has worked.

In a secret conversation that belongs only to them, these two artists establish a veritable dialogue of colors, celebrating all the expressions of the Living Body, to the delight of visitors.
