On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the Musée du Luxembourg will be hosting the 21st Nuit des Musées in Paris and the Île-de-France region. Discover the program that awaits you this year.

For the 21st Nuit des Musées, the Musée du Luxembourg is opening its doors to us by night, on Saturday May 17, 2025. An opportunity for Parisians and art lovers to discover the building and the temporary exhibition of the day.

Every year since 2005, the Nuit européenne des Musées is an opportunity for art lovers to push open the doors of legendary museums throughout France, free of charge, from dusk until midnight. For an entire evening, the most curious can enjoy exclusive tours, screenings and exceptional events. It's a unique opportunity for the French to visit their favorite museums for free by night!

Few Parisians know that the Musée du Luxembourg was the first French museum to be opened to the public in 1750, and in 1818 became the first museum of contemporary art. Initially housed in the Palais du Luxembourg, it moved to a purpose-built annex in 1884... The museum has no permanent collections, and its life depends on the temporary exhibitions it organizes and hosts.
