As a reminder, the first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21, 1982 by Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, Maurice Fleuret and Christian Dupavillon, architect-scenographer and member of the Cabinet. At the time, they wanted to launch a major popular event enabling all musicians to play and make a name for themselves during a festive evening.
For 43 years now, the Fête de la musique has been bringing music in all its forms to the stage every June 21 with an eclectic program.
While the Fête de la Musique promises to be a rich and varied event in Paris, there's no shortage of good musical ideas elsewhere in the Paris region, such as in Palaiseau. ThisEssonne town is once again taking part in this popular and festive event on June 21.
