Music lovers, this is the event for you! The Italian Cultural Center invites you to join us on Saturday, June 21, 2025, for the latest edition of the Fête de la Musique in Paris. A free concert, a plunge into Italian culture, and a great time ahead: what more could you ask for?
Located on rue des Prêtres Saint-Séverin, in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Italian Cultural Center is a non-profit cultural association founded in 1979. Its mission? To promote and publicize the Italian language and culture in France, and the French language and culture in Italy. Every year, the Italian Cultural Center offers a wide range of courses and events.
For the Fête de la musique 2025, the Italian Cultural Centre invites you to join us on Saturday June 21, 2025 for a free Neapolitan concert by the Cantanapoli choir! On the program? A repertoire of Neapolitan songs from the 13th to the 20th centuries, not to be missed in front of the Italian Cultural Center from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
As a reminder, the Fête de la Musique was created in 1982 on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture. That year, the Ministry of Culture's studies and research department conducted a major survey of French cultural practices. It revealed that five million people, including one young person in two, play a musical instrument. So Jack Lang, architect and scenographer Christian Dupavillon, a member of his Cabinet, and Maurice Fleuret came up with the idea of a major popular event to enable all musicians to express themselves and make themselves known. The very first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21 1982, the symbolic day of the summer solstice.
