The Maison des Métallos is a very special place, located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Built in 1881 to house the Gautrot musical instrument factory, the building changed function and occupant over the decades, before becoming a historic monument. Today, this cultural venue, owned by the Paris City Council, is an unusual arts center, focusing on live performances and sharing with its neighborhood.
The Maison des Métallos continues to deliver an eclectic and lively lineup... and this year’s Music Day is no exception. On Saturday, June 21, 2025, this cultural hub opens its doors to the public for free, inviting everyone to join in the festivities with a special, open-access performance!

The Fête de la musique is a popular celebration that has been held every June 21 for over 40 years in France! The event was initiated by François Mitterrand's Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, as well as Maurice Fleuret and Christian Dupavillon. The three men wanted to showcase all genres of music, and all willing artists, to promote the diversity of the arts.
A few years later, the Fête de la Musique is as popular as ever, invading every corner of the capital, including the Maison des Métallos on June 21. You can also find out about other events in the area on Sortiraparis.com.
