The Fête de la Musique was created in 1982 by Jack Lang and a number of his colleagues to promote music in all its forms. Amateur and professional musicians are invited to share their art with as many people as possible, at free concerts organized in the streets and in places open to the public. Every year, this popular cultural event attracts millions of French music and party lovers.
The town of Châtillon is also a regular participant in this celebration, organizing a variety of musical events for young and old alike. This commune of the Greater Paris Metropolis is home to several cultural and artistic spaces, and organizes festivals and cultural events throughout the year, such as Printemps des Poètes, Nuits de la lecture, Journées du Patrimoine, Rendez-vous au Jardin... West Side Story and other songs Conservatoire de Châtillon - 5 rue Paul Bert 4pm to 5pm - Free admission, subject to availability West Side Story and other songs, by the Conservatoire's teen chorus. This concert will feature multi-part excerpts from Leonard Berstein's famous musical West Side Story, plus songs by composers such as Caccini, Kodaly and Ruter, plus other musical surprises, for a music festival under the sign of the voice.
