This year, the 42nd Fête de la musique is being celebrated at the Musée Guimet! On Saturday June 22, 2024, the sublime Musée National des Arts Asiatiques opens its doors to artists Wang Li and Wu Wei for a concert of Chinese music.

The Fête de la musique is back every year on June 21, and this year celebrates its 42nd edition! As always, the Fête de la Musique is an opportunity to get out your instruments and sing your favourite tunes loud and clear in the streets. But the event, established in 1982 under the impetus of then Minister of Culture Jack Lang, is also the perfect time to discover new talent or attend concerts by established artists. Every June 21, budding bands and artists take to the streets of Paris and the Ile-de-France region, while others bring the house down in concert halls, museums, churches and parks and gardens.

For a whole day, the Fête de la musique is an opportunity to celebrate music in all its forms (classical, jazz, rock, metal, rap, French variety, reggae, pop, zouk, electro...) in a spirit of joy and good humor!

This year, for the 42nd edition of the Fête de la musique, why not celebrate this popular event in one of the capital's famous and sublime museums? The Musée Guimet, a cultural venue dedicated to Asian arts in the capital's 16th arrondissement, is taking part in the event with a concert that invites travel.

Please note that this concert, scheduled at the Musée Guimet as part of the Fête de la musique, takes place on Saturday June 22, 2024. So, what program awaits you on this occasion? The Musée National des Arts Asiatiques welcomes artists Wang Li and Wu Wei. While the former hails from northeast China and plays the Jew's harp, the latter comes to us from southeast China and makes no secret of his passion for the sheng, or mouth organ.

On June 22, 2024, Wang Li and Wu Wei will deliver a spellbinding concert using avant-garde playing and improvisation techniques.

The concert costs 18 euros and can be booked now on the official website. However, the Musée Guimet has announced that the concert will be " free on the day, subject to availability and conditions ". The concert is scheduled for 8pm in the Auditorium Jean-François Jarrige.
