Do you know the Musée Guimet? Located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, this historic site awaits you on a voyage of discovery through its permanent collections, splendid spaces and exotic exhibitions. There's even a terrace with a view of the Eiffel Tower.
This is a museum that has retained the inquisitive spirit and freshness of soul of its founder, Émile Guimet (1836-1918), a Lyonnais industrialist and collector of art objects, particularly Asian ones, a collection that is also the origin of the museum that today bears his name.
If the Musée Guimet was originally founded on the experience of discovery, the intelligence of the works and the diversity of artistic approaches, it continues in the 21st century to nurture taste and curiosity for an Asia of yesterday and today, which has always demonstrated its capacity for adaptation and innovation through the centuries.
On the theme of"Breath and energy at the heart", the museum offers a range of activities and trails to discover fusion music, contemporary Asian creations, and even a fun escape game.

During his travels in Asia, particularly in Japan at the end of the 19th century, Émile Guimet relentlessly sought out works that were, at the time, extremely contemporary. Today, the Musée Guimet continues to enrich its collections with contemporary works, and presents them in an original itinerary called"Asia Now" within the permanent collection, featuring over 150 recent and newly-acquired works.
Aimed at a broad public, the Musée Guimet is open to all visitors wishing to learn more about Asia, but also to understand and be moved, in response to the founder's wish in 1889 to create"a museum that thinks, a museum that speaks, a museum that lives".
