Urban art and street art fans will surely remember: in 2024, the Petit Palais hosted its first-ever urban art exhibition, in collaboration with the galerie Itinerrance. From 20 June to 20 September 2026, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Paris invites us to discover the second edition of this unconventional show!
The exhibition We are (still) here (literally “we are still here” in French) takes up residence in the museum's permanent collection galleries and in the Concorde Room, presenting nearly 200 works by leading figures in street art from France and abroad. These giants of urban art unveil monumental installations alongside more subtle pieces, forging a fresh, unexpected dialogue with the Beaux-Arts masterpieces on display in the museum.
Street art, paintings, sculptures and traditional art objects fuse into an unprecedented, intriguing mix — a collision of generations and cultures that enriches every work.
With the second edition of the exhibition We are (still) here, visitors can explore the work of more than 60 French and international artists, including Invader, Seth, Shepard Fairey, D*Face, Conor Harrington, Seize, L’Atlas, Nasty, Hom, Le CyKlop, Swoon, Init, Vhils, Romain Froquet and many others. The works are shown both in the museum’s permanent collections and in a large gallery filled with paintings, in the spirit of an urban-art salon.
This free exhibition brings together essential street-art artists: the richly varied route lets visitors grasp the full spectrum of urban art and its place in the art world.
This time, the pieces on the permanent route are a bit fewer and a touch more understated. So much so that you can easily walk right past them without noticing. The exhibition unfolds like a treasure hunt: the contemporary installations blend into the surroundings, as if they’ve always been there. Keep your eyes peeled so you don’t miss them. A free app is available for download to give you more information and help you along your visit.
The Concorde Grand Hall, for its part, remains as impressive as ever, with works displayed from floor to ceiling. We see several artists from the first edition returning, presenting new pieces in a familiar style. Two or three works from the first edition of the exhibition are also reintroduced into the route.
Often, these artists are also engaged creators who use their art to express their worldview, denounce abuses, and give voice to minority communities. In street art, you find deep works with multiple layers of meaning. Inequality and civil rights, major world events, the search for identity, advocacy: the exhibition recalls the spirit of this street art, which has traveled from the walls of working-class neighborhoods to the walls of Paris’s grandest museums.
After a first edition that was highly praised, we’re happily diving back into urban art at the Petit Palais! Street-art lovers, don’t miss this original, colorful exhibition, free to visit at the Petit Palais for the entire summer 2026.
