Feel like celebrating the Fête de la musique in style? Once again this year, you'll find a wide range of musical events to keep you on your toes and running to the four corners of the capital. Every year on the same date, free concerts spring up everywhere, offering a wide choice of possibilities. Squares and gardens, bars and restaurants, churches and museums... budding artists and musicians take over a huge number of venues, bringing live music to life.
The Fête de la Musique was born of the desire to give all musicians the opportunity to express themselves and make themselves known. Jack Lang, Minister of Culture at the time, and his team came up with the idea of a major popular event. The first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21, 1982, the symbolic day of the summer solstice.

Since then, the Fête de la Musique has continued to resound throughout France on June 21, and abroad too. This year, a host of concerts awaits you. On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the famous Parisian barge transports you straight to the Camargue for an open-air bal guinguette!
Head for the Port des Invalides from 2pm to 8pm for a feast for friends and family! Come and enjoy the music and the atmosphere. On the dance floor, waltzes, tangos, pasos, Madison and other classics will follow one another throughout the afternoon.
