If I tell you June 21, you answer? Fête de la musique, of course! Like every year on the same date, budding musicians and amateur singers are getting ready to bring out their instruments and perform the songs of their idols for a day that's as festive as it is convivial.
A quick reminder: the Fête de la Musique was launched in France in 1982. The event was the brainchild of Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, Maurice Fleuret and Christian Dupavillon, architect-scenographer and cabinet member. Their idea was simple: to launch a major popular event enabling all musicians to play and make a name for themselves during a festive evening.
More than 40 years after its launch, the Fête de la Musique continues to resonate across France every June 21. And on June 21, there's plenty to do in Paris, from free concerts in emblematic or unusual venues to open-air concerts by the water or in a park! On June 21, all styles of music are featured (rock, rap, electro, classical, zouk...), so there's something for everyone.
For lovers of electro music, there's no shortage of good ideas, with DJ sets organized all over the capital. Looking for something to dance to in Montmartre? Then don't miss Ryugu'sopen air event.
