Music will ring out across Paris and the Île-de-France region on Sunday, June 21, 2026, as part of the new edition of the Fête de la musique.
First staged nationwide in 1982, the fête de la musique was born from the push of Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, Maurice Fleuret, and Christian Dupavillon, an architect and scenographer who sat in the Cabinet. At the time, their aim was simple: to launch a large-scale celebration that would let all musicians perform and make themselves known for a single festive evening.
For more than four decades now, the success shows no signs of letting up. So every June 21, aspiring musicians and singers flood the streets to powerfully showcase live music in all its forms. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re into rock, rap, electro, reggae, classical, zouk, metal, French pop, blues or jazz!
During the traditional Fête de la musique, music takes over many neighborhoods of the capital, including the 4th arrondissement, and more precisely the parvis de Notre-Dame. On the program this year at the foot of the famous Parisian landmark? Rock from the Parisian duo Channy on the Rock!
