The Musée des Arts et Métiers is opening its doors to all visitors free of charge this Saturday, June 1, 2024, for the 22nd Nuit Blanche.

Once again this year, the Musée des Arts et Métiers is taking part in the Nuit Blanche de Paris, with an astonishing program for the whole family. This Saturday, June 1, 2024, take advantage of a free visit to the museum to (re)discover its exceptional collections.

The Musée des Arts et Métiers is one of the most fascinating places for young and old alike. Here you'll find an extensive collection honoring industrial and technological creations. This collection, one of the oldest in the world, includes Clément Ader's Aéroplane, known as Avion n° 3 (1897), Foucault's pendulum (1851), Pascal's Machine arithmétique (1642-1652), Lavoisier's Gazomètre (1787), Thimonnier's model of the first sewing machine (1830), as well as the model of the "Telstar 1" telecommunications satellite and other technical and technological innovations of the 20th century.

During this exceptional artistic nocturne, the Musée des Arts et Métiers has planned a special program, which should fascinate visitors young and old... The museum's historic works and exhibits are set to take center stage, in an unusual, innovative yet mysterious project. To find out more, you've got to go!

On the program for this Nuit blanche 2024 at the Musée des Arts et Métiers:

  • L'Œil du Soleil by artist Ikse Maître and the Vues de l'esprit collective
    Free admission, no registration required
Curiosity is one of mankind's most powerful and commendable motivators: it drives us to explore, investigate and learn. The installation L'Œil du Soleil blends science, technology, imagination and daydreaming to focus on the special relationship humans have with the cosmos.
A gigantic eye whose behavior resembles that of the human eye, it showcases our thirst for knowledge and discovery of our environment. Curious, the Eye observes and follows the gaze of visitors as they come and go. It is sensitive to their gestures and touch. Engaging, it responds to the curiosity of some visitors, giving them a glimpse of the Sun we never see, at its ultraviolet extremes.

An intriguing outing that should delight young and old alike! A great family visit awaits you.
