Program for Nuit Blanche 2024 at Saint-Eustache church in Paris :

  • In collaboration with the Bourse de Commerce
In keeping with the theme of overseas territories honored by Nuit Blanche this year, Pinault Collection is spotlighting French artist Pol Taburet, with the presentation of his work My Eden's Pool (2022). Exhibited in the Chapelle Sainte-Agnès of the Saint-Eustache church, this recent painting takes up the iconography of Christ carrying the cross, which Pol Taburet hijacks by applying the gaze of a younger generation anxious to continue representing the black body. The contorted body of a hybrid creature, and a head deprived of a body, emerge against a flamboyant yellow background - two spectral presences at once disquieting and burlesque, proposing new narratives as much as they testify to the artist's influences. This work from the Pinault Collection will be shared with churchgoers and visitors during Nuit Blanche, on June 1, 2024.
