The Théâtre de la Concorde is brand new, having opened in 2024. It features an Italian-style theater, a cinema, a podcast room, an exhibition hall, an outdoor stage, and innovative, modern programming. But before that, the Théâtre de la Concorde had several other lives.
Located in the Champs-Elysées gardens in Paris's 8th arrondissement, this venue has long been known as the Café des Ambassadeurs. From 1772 to 1929, the café attracted many customers, and its fame grew even more after the 1830s, when singers were allowed to perform there. Between 1930 and 1969, the café was transformed into a theater, offering dinner shows featuring plays from the French repertoire. In 1970, the theater became theEspace Pierre Cardin, before being renamed the Théâtre de la Concorde.
So many changes! And it's not over yet... This Saturday, June 7, 2025, for the new edition of the Nuit Blanche, the theater is changing hats again. This time, the art venue is being transformed to host a Nuit Blanche event, a majorcontemporary art event.
