A couple in distress knocks on the door of a castle where an experiment is about to begin: The Rocky Horror Picture Show is airing on Arte on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 8:55 p.m.. Jim Sharman directs this 1975 musical comedy starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick.
Janet and Brad have just become engaged when they’re forced to seek refuge at Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s. The character played by Tim Curry welcomes them into a world where the rules of their everyday lives no longer apply. The film adapts The Rocky Horror Show, Richard O’Brien’s cult musical, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Sharman and appears as Riff Raff.
Its story also continued in cinemas, with screenings accompanied by live performances and audience participation. In Paris, this tradition is linked to the Studio Galande: read our piece on the Rocky Horror Picture Show screenings at this venue. The feature film received a French revival on 13 April 2016.
