Watch Madagascar 2 on Netflix from November 16: an animated adventure for young and old, full of laughter and emotion.

In 2008, creators Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath followed up the hilarious adventures of our friends from the Central Park Zoo with Madagascar 2, an animated film that blends humor, adventure and a family reunion in Africa. In this second opus, the animals who escaped from the New York Zoo - the lion Alex, the zebra Marty, the giraffe Melman and the hippopotamus Gloria - are reunited with their families and discover their roots on African soil. Accompanied by their inseparable companions, the strategist penguins, King Julien and Maurice, this merry band is in for an exciting adventure.

Where and when can you see Madagascar 2 in France?

Madagascar 2 will be available on Netflix from November 16, 2024.

Synopsis: All the lovable creatures of Madagascar are back: the lion Alex, the zebra Marty, the giraffe Melman, the hippopotamus Gloria, King Julien, Maurice and the penguins... none are missing. After being stranded on the distant shores of Madagascar, our New Yorkers have concocted an insane plan - so insane that it just might work! With near-military discipline, the penguins patched up an airplane wreck, and after a chaotic flight, the unlikely crew made it to the vast plains of Africa. The former residents of Central Park Zoo now meet their respective families in their natural habitat for the first time. A unique opportunity to reconnect with their roots, but also to measure the gulf that separates nature from civilization, the "dark continent" from the "concrete jungle".

Madagascar 2 is a joyful, light-hearted animation, perfect for children aged 6 and over and the whole family. With its funny, endearing characters, dubbed in French by talented voices such asAnthony Kavanagh for Marty, this film will delight young and old alike. Fans of animated franchises such as Ice Age and Shrek will no doubt appreciate the humor and outrageous situations that are Madagascar's trademark. This second film also invites viewers to reflect, through tender scenes, on family, origins and the contrast between the natural world and the city.

Adults will also find additional reading levels thanks to cultural references and touches of humor specifically designed for them, making Madagascar 2 a double-edged animated film capable of captivating all ages.

With Madagascar 2, young and old alike can look forward to an adventure as funny as it is moving, combining the adventures of our heroes with the discovery of Africa. This return to our roots in the heart of the African wilderness is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to laugh and marvel once again at the adventures of Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria. An animation to see again or discover, ideal for a relaxing family evening.
