Blue Sun Palace, Constance Tsang's first feature film, has been selected for Critics' Week 2024, the parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival which rewards first and second feature films and runs from May 15 to 23.
A graduate of Columbia University with a master's degree in screenwriting and directing, the New York-based American director tells the story of two migrants from Queens' Chinese community, bound together by a sudden loss. Far from home, and working tirelessly to support themselves, they grieve together in the hope of finding a family.
As Constance Tsang's first feature film, Blue Sun Palace is in the running for the Caméra d'Or 2024, the prestigious Cannes award given each year to a first feature film. Discover all the films competing for this award right here!
While lucky festival-goers will be able to discover the film in a world premiere, other cinema-goers will have to wait a little longer: the film has not yet been given a theatrical release date.
