The End of Silence - A documentary by Lorena Muñoz on the feminicide of Maria Soledad

The new documentary The End of Silence, directed by Lorena Muñoz, takes us to the heart of a landmark case that shook Argentina three decades ago: the murder of María Soledad Morales. The film, available on Netflix from October 10, 2024, traces the struggle of her comrades to have this crime recognized as the country's first officially recognized feminicide. Lorena Muñoz, who has already made impactful documentaries such as Gilda, promises us here a work that is both personal and historical, which should appeal to viewers beyond Argentina's borders.

Thirty years after the death of María Soledad Morales, her classmates - young women who fought to reveal the truth - gather in Catamarca to pay tribute to their deceased friend and retrace the steps of the tragedy that marked a turning point: María Soledad's murder was the first case recognized as feminicide in Argentina.

La Fin du Silence should appeal not only to audiences sensitive to socially engaged documentaries, but also to those interested in stories of justice and memory. With this film, Lorena Muñoz explores the themes of feminicide, impunity and citizen power in the face of injustice.
