Good American Family draws on a widely publicized U.S. incident, already known as the Natalia Grace case. The series tells the story from multiple perspectives, weaving together family drama, suspicion, courtroom proceedings, and questions surrounding international adoption.

This drama also marks a landmark performance for Ellen Pompeo, long associated with the character of Meredith Grey in Grey’s Anatomy. Here she portrays Kristine Barnett, alongside Mark Duplass as Michael Barnett and Imogen Faith Reid as Natalia.

Airing on TF1 may appeal to viewers drawn to dramas based on real events and to psychologically tense family sagas. The series is less suited for those seeking light fiction or a self-contained single-episode format, since the plot unfolds over eight episodes.
