Un Certain Regard, the prestigious selection of the Cannes Film Festival that spotlights the singular looks and emerging talents of world cinema, has unveiled its 2025 vintage, and Francesco Sossai's film Un Dernier pour la Route (Le città di pianura) is one of them.
This film marks Francesco Sossai 's debut on the Croisette, alongside his fellow actors: Filippo Scotti, Pierpaolo Capovilla and Andrea Pennacchi.
"Le città di pianura is a road movie. And this 'last for the road' is really about a glass of booze. It's a story about men who take to the road to get drunk," explained Thierry Frémaux, general delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, at the press conference on Thursday April 10.
Un Dernier pour la Route will be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The release date in French cinemas is not yet known.
Synopsis: Two rambunctious 50-somethings are obsessed with a nightcap. One evening, they meet Giulio, a shy architecture student whose vision of the world and of love is about to be transformed as the trio wander from bar to bar in Veneto.
