It's one of the most eagerly awaited selections of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. After the Official Selection, Critics' Week andAcid, the Quinzaine des Cinéastes has unveiled the 18 films that will make up its 57th edition. A rich selection, designed to offer a free and daring panorama of world cinema.
What if the pleasant surprise of this selection was Chinese? Director Jinghao Zhou's first feature film, Girl on Edge, is part of this 2025 vintage. As it is a first film, it is also in contention for the Caméra d'Or 2025.
Opinion of the Quinzaine des Cinéastes: "We're off into genre cinema with a first Chinese film by Jinghao Zhou: Girl on Edge. It's a psychological thriller set in the world of figure skating, against a backdrop of female rivalry. Incredibly masterful for a first feature, and above all a Chinese film that stands out from the Chinese cinema we're used to seeing at major festivals."
Girl on Edge will be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The release date in French cinemas is not yet known.
Synopsis: The official synopsis of this film is not yet known.
