Following the announcement of the other selections(Official Selection, Semaine de la Critique, Quinzaine des Cinéastes), Acid unveils its program for the Cannes Festival 2025. With no competitive vocation, this independent selection has been working for over 30 years to raise the profile of demanding and singular films, often made outside the traditional circuits.
This year, 9 feature-length films were chosen for inclusion in the selection. Laurent dans le vent, the second feature film byAnton Balekdjian, Léo Couture and Mattéo Eustachon, is part of the 2025 selection. Shot in the Hautes-Alpes and Lyon, the film follows Laurent, a young man in search of meaning, played by Baptiste Perusat, alongside Béatrice Dalle, Djanis Bouzyani and Suzanne de Baecque.
Acid biography of the three directors: "Anton Balekdjian, Léo Couture and Mattéo Eustachon met while studying at Cinéfabrique. Graduating in 2020 from the script, sound and image departments respectively, they began a collective production project. Together, they made Mourir à Ibiza (a film in three summers), an assemblage of three medium-length films shot over three years, released in cinemas in 2022. Then, together, they made a new film in 2025, Laurent dans le vent."
Laurent dans le vent will be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The release date in French cinemas is not yet known.
Synopsis: At the age of 29, Laurent is looking for meaning in his life. Jobless and homeless, he ends up in a deserted ski resort in the off-season, and interferes in the lives of the few locals he meets. When the tourists arrive with winter, Laurent can't leave.
