Les Sentinelles is a new French series created by Guillaume Lemans and Xabi Molia, starring Louis Peres, Thibaut Evrard, and Kacey Mottet Klein. Adapted from the comic book by Xavier Dorison and Enrique Breccia (Delcourt), this six-episode series of 52-minute episodes combines historical drama, action, and fantasy. It will be broadcast on Canal+ starting September 29, 2025, at 9:09 p.m.
Set during World War I, the story follows soldier Gabriel Ferraud, who is seriously wounded and selected for a secret army program aimed at creating soldiers enhanced by an experimental serum. Now stronger and faster, he joins an elite unit called "Les Sentinelles," which faces unpredictable consequences that threaten the course of the war.
Through the journey of a man transformed by science, the series explores the boundary between humanity and technology in a context of total war. The story combines dramatic tension and historical reconstruction to address the dehumanization of modern conflict.
The project transposes the codes of science fiction into a historical setting. Filming took place in France and Belgium, on sites evoking the battlefields of 1915. The staging favors a marked visual realism, supported by cold lighting and industrial art direction.
The screenplay, written by Guillaume Lemans, revisits the myths of the super-soldier and mechanized warfare. Louis Peres (Germinal, In Therapy) plays Gabriel Ferraud, a tragic hero torn between survival and loss of identity. Alongside him, Thibaut Evrard and Kacey Mottet Klein play two combatants caught up in the same experimental spiral.
