The Demain festival makes its comeback at the Forum des images from November 4–8, 2026. Organized with France Télévisions’ Overseas division, this second edition features documentaries, talks, and concerts with free admission. Reservations open on October 19 at noon.
Opening night features The Haka Party Incident, with director Katie Wolfe in attendance. The documentary revisits a 1979 Auckland incident sparked by students performing a haka imitation, and the debate it ignited across New Zealand.
The program also features The Empty Grave, Manae Feleu, Captain Futuna, Before the Moon Falls, Kouté Vwa and Mayotte, les échappés de la rue. One screening addresses nuclear issues in French Polynesia, while the conference Penser Demain, with Pierre Rosanvallon, examines the links between democracy, long-term thinking and climate disruption.
Music also features prominently with Prodiges Voix des Outre-mer and the screening of Mo’zar, Mon Style, followed by a surprise closing concert. In the Forum spaces, the Écouter les Outre-Mer podcasts are freely accessible. The photography exhibition Bribes, open to the public from October 28 to November 23, extends the festival.
This event joins the ranks of cinema festivals and retrospectives to discover in Paris.
