Fight a merciless war against ghosts and zombies in an abandoned mansion, all in an ultra-immersive space... This is what Terragame, a virtual reality center located in Corbeil-Essonnes, a few kilometers from Paris, offers with two experiences in the Ile-de-France park: La Route des Damnés and Le Manoir des Damnés. Two adventures that can be enjoyed separately, or in a single session, where you'll have to summon your courage and enter a haunted mansion to face your fears...
The pitch is classic, but effective: first, you get into a truck to drive to a haunted mansion, then save a family from a demon in the heart of the mansion. To do this, you're equipped with a VR headset, a computer on your back (soon no longer necessary) and a machine-gun, all of which allow you to evolve in a 1000m2 space. And to take the concept ofhyper-virtual reality even further, the space has been designed so that a door in virtual reality actually corresponds to a door in the real world, a wall corresponds to a wall, or a piece of furniture corresponds to a piece of furniture.
It's an experience that the editors were able to try out, and we're not going to beat about the bush: we were blown away! Immersion is total and absolute! Graphically speaking, even if seasoned gamers may have something to say about this or that aspect of the game, we're still flabbergasted by the workmanship and effects. A scaryVR adventure game, but accessible enough even for those who don't care much for creepy atmospheres.
On the gameplay side, everything is pretty fluid, making for a particularly enjoyable experience. The gun meets our expectations relatively well, and fans of FPS games should find what they're looking for. In short, we loved it... Go for it, folks!
