Roland Garros eSeries: the eSport tournament returns to Paris

Less well known than its real-life counterpart, the Roland Garros eSeries tournament is back for a new edition, with the final phase to be held at Roland Garros on May 25, 2024. Based on the Tennis Clash video game, the eight best international eTennis players will compete, including William "Fozzy" Foster, winner of the last two editions, who will come to defend his title, and Gilles Simon. The final of the qualifying tournament open to the general public in France will also be broadcast on Twitch on May 25.

Attention tennis andeSport fans... The Roland-Garros eSeries returns for another edition on May 25, 2024. The event will be held in theauditorium of the Roland-Garros tenniseum and promises to attract tennis and video game fans from all over the world. This unique competition, which will take place on Tennis Clash, the famous mobile game with 150 million downloads, has built a solid bridge between traditional sport and the world ofeSport.

This year's event will welcome eight finalists, including two-time titleholder William "Fozzy" Foster, ready to defend his crown. The entry of Gilles Simon, former world number 6, also adds a unique dimension to this edition. Gilles Simon, former world number 6 in the ATP rankings, Davis Cup winner with the French team and who commented on the tournament the previous year, will be making his competitive debut here, marking a significant rapprochement between the worlds of professional tennis and eSports. In addition, the presence of the Handigamers association as a wild card underlines the competition's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.

Participants will also have the opportunity to prepare for the final phase on the premises of GameWard, an eSport club offering one of the best performance ecosystems in France. This preparatory framework guarantees that all finalists will be in the best possible conditions to compete at the highest level. With a prize pool of €5,000 to be shared between the winner and runner-up, the competition promises to be as intense as it is rewarding.

Note that the final will be broadcast on Twitch, and presented by Samuel Etienne (on his channel from 4pm, accompanied on set by LittleBigWhale, Gilles Simon and Quento). Former world number one in Tennis Clash and one of the game's best-known players, streamer GP365, will also be among the commentators. The event will close with a live concert by LittleBigWhale.
