The Korean Cultural Center offers a fascinating and entertaining tour of Korean games, from the 18th century to the present day, from vintage toys to video games, in a free exhibition from May 24 to October 5, 2024!

In its new free exhibition, the Korean Cultural Center plunges visitors into the world of Korean entertainment, through all existing forms of games, from the 18th century to the present day, an opportunity to explore all that the term "games" can mean, from May 24 to October 5, 2024! Thousands of years old, games and toys combine imagination, strategy and physical activity, and appeal to all ages, creating bonds and bringing pleasure.

In the heart of the Korean peninsula, certain forms of entertainment were once reserved for the nobility! Divided into three parts, representing the past, present and future, the exhibition first immerses us in tradition, with reproductions and digital animations of old paintings dating back to the 18th century, showing young Korean nobles enjoying various distractions in good company. Animated videos, interactive games, reproductions of folkloric game scenes and reinterpretations of traditional games such as kite-flying complete the picture of Korean culture.

There's also a focus on popular Korean games of the 20th century, made famous in the rest of the world through the Squid Game series. Visitors discover games straight out of Korean playgrounds! One area is dedicated tofuturistic experimentation, with creations that plunge us into augmented reality, using a smartphone. It's a great way to discover the latest advances and what may well happen in the not-too-distant future!
The exhibition concludes with a section on South KoreaneSports, offering an immersive exploration of the industry's origins, triumphs and promising future. Ready to get in on the action?
