Hogwarts Legacy: new trailer and Collector's Edition revealed at Gamescom

Will you slip into the dark side of magic, or will you resist the call of Unforgivable Spells? A never-before-seen trailer forHogwarts Legacy, unveiled during the opening night of Gamescom, gives us a glimpse of darker game modes that could take us into the darkest hours of the magical world.

Warner Bros. Games released a short video on Tuesday evening, August 23, 2022. A video that slightly lifts the veil on the story of Sebastian Pallow, a wizard obsessed with the legacy of Salazar Slytherin.

This trailer reveals an intriguing side quest from the game Hogwarts Legacy, a title that already promises to be one of the biggest hits of this February 2023.

The Gamescom video introduces Sebastian Pallow, a Hogwarts student who will do anything to keep himself safe... Even to use dark magic and Unforgivable Spells. Alongside him, we explore the darkest corners of the castle, crossing the Forbidden Forest, the Chamber of Secrets, and other mysterious and sinister places. This trailer could be the trailer for a real horror game, and we apprentice wizards might be intimidated by this dangerous and terrifying quest.

The bravest of you (and no, we're not just talking to Gryffindors) will have to deal with Inferi, trolls, giant spiders and other creatures of the dark forces. Every choice you make will have consequences. And if you complete this quest, you will learn one of the Unforgivable Spells: Doloris. Will you use this knowledge wisely?

The trailer also reveals the contents of theCollector's Edition, which is estimated to cost around 280 euros. Here's what's in the box set:

• A PC, Xbox or PlayStation version of the game (the Switch version has no release date yet),
• 72 hours of early access to the game (i.e. February 8 instead of February 10),
• A steelbook for the game,
• A large figurine of a life-size Ancient Magic wand levitating above a magic book,
• A collector's box containing all the physical items,
• The in-game Black Mage hat (the same as in the Deluxe Edition),
• Kelpy's in-game cloak,
• The Deluxe Edition Dark Magic cosmetic pack including Sombral's mount, Dark Magic outfit, Battle Arena.
  
  

The Hogwarts Legacy game is available for pre-order starting August 25. Pre-ordering a Deluxe or Collector's Edition will get you the exclusive Hippogriff of Onyx mount.
