Over 115 years ago, in 1905, a store specialized in workwear opened in Paris: A L'O. At 92 rue de Turenne, next to the Saint Sébastien Froissart metro station, you'll find authentic brands such as Danton, Vétra, Le Glazik, Orcival...

Quality since 1905

The adventure began in 1905, when Henri Honnet, a modest entrepreneur, opened a workwear store on boulevard de la Villette. 117 years later, his vision of a trusted house is reinvented at a new address in the Marais, 92 rue de Turenne.

A L'O has been designed to satisfy lovers of authentic brands and ready-to-wear with character, in a typically French style.

The selection is built around timeless, contemporary clothes with a strong identity. All these brands have one thing in common: they are run by family-run factories, each founded by entrepreneurs committed to providing workers or sailors with the best strength, durability and functionality they needed for their work. These pioneers created brands with a history and soul that cannot be stolen or imitated.

A l'O's philosophy stems from the values conveyed by these products: their belief is that we respect and wear longer garments whose meaning and history we understand; and that respect for the people behind the production process is elementary, since manufacturing is an integral part of design.

From Le Glazik's Breton marine cabans, to Vétra's work jackets, to Danton's Japanese workwear, via Orcival's marinières de la Marine Nationale, all authentic workwear that has been designed for the worker, on sea or land, forms the common thread running through A L'O.

Below is a presentation of the emblematic brands sold:

Danton

Founded in 1931, Danton's Paris office at 40 rue Croix des petits champs quickly made its mark on the Parisian public markets, notably the metro, the SNCF and Paris City Hall.

A historic French workwear brand, Danton has successfully expanded into Japan with a more fashionable and broader collection, while retaining its workwear characteristics.

Le Glazik

Maison Le Glazik is the historic manufacturer of the genuine Breton jacket and the authentic Breton sailor coat, made "made in France" in its own factory since 1928.

The Quimper-based company has never ceased to defend these highly resistant garments designed by seafarers, with a story attached to each one.

Today, the soon-to-be century-old company also offers a complete collection for lovers of beautiful, durable seaside and pleasure products. You'll find everything you need to dress old sea dogs from head to toe, as well as blouses, sweaters, privateers, trousers and men's and women's Bermuda shorts. And there's something for every sailor too....

Vétra

Founded in Paris in 1927 on L'ile Saint Louis by Edouard Beerens, Vétra has never ceased to manufacture authentic French workwear.

Still run by the founder's family, with manufacturing still 100% in France in its own factory for over 95 years, today it's the 3rd and 4th generations who continue the adventure and maintain the know-how.

The brand has become an international benchmark for true French workwear, with a history attached to each and every garment.

Orcival

Founded in Paris in 1939, the Orcival factory specializes in genuine French marinière, still made 100% in France (marinière + jersey) in its own workshop, and has equipped the French Navy for decades.

Worn by celebrities of the time, avant-garde, the brand became the benchmark for real marinière internationally in the 2000s, to the point of being chosen by MoMA in 2017 to represent French know-how.
