Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche puts Japanese fashion in the spotlight... before driving it to auction. An exhibition of rare pieces is on view from October 13 to 18, 2026, a prelude to an unprecedented sale organized as part of Super Japon, the department store’s autumn event.

At Bon Marché Rive Gauche, fashion shifts gears: after racks, the focus turns to auctions. For the first time, the department store teams up with Penelope’s Auction, a house dedicated to the arts of fashion, for a women’s pieces sale centered on the back-to-school theme: Super Japon. Expect a collection of vintage gems with pieces signed by the leading names in Japanese fashion.

Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche answers with "Super Japon," its new fall exhibition running from August 29 to October 18, 2026, pairing gourmet discoveries, cult objects, Japanese design, and sensory experiences. Ahead of the gavel, an exhibition takes the stage. From 13 to 18 October 2026, visitors will be able to explore the pieces up for sale in the department store’s spaces. At the helm of this curated selection is Pénélope Blanckaert, a fashion expert and curator who has worked with auction houses for nearly twenty years. Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake... the leading names in Japanese fashion gather here at the front row, offering bold silhouettes, daring constructions, and pieces that have become highly coveted.

Then, on Sunday, October 18, 2026, eyes will leave the hangers to follow the bids. Estimates, bidding wars, adjudications: this autumn Le Bon Marché is getting in on the auction-house action!
