The Salon du livre et de la presse jeunesse de Montreuil 2023 returns this winter

The Salon du livre et la presse jeunesse de Montreuil returns this winter, to the delight of regular readers. The 39th edition of the fair dedicated to children's literature will take place from November 29 to December 4, 2023, around the theme of the body. The theme celebrates children's literature, the collective, team spirit and openness to others, from an early age!

The show, which is open to the general public, welcomes some 450 exhibitors, publishers and French and international authors of children's literature. Once again this year, the SLPJ has chosen to retain the innovations it introduced in 2020, to make it more accessible to all. An outdoor exhibition of children's illustrations and professional events will accompany the literary festival, while a nationwide choral inauguration will feature guest artists in 500 partner venues. Internationally, the festival will feature meetings, readings and previews, in partnership with French and foreign cultural institutes.

The 500 bookstores, libraries and cultural centers partnering the Montreuil Fair will be showcasing the Pépites, the Fair's literary prizes, to enable readers to meet up with their favorite authors of books and albums and make literary discoveries.The Pépites awards recognize the best children's books of the year, in four categories: illustrated books, comics, junior fiction and teen fiction.Young readers are invited to apply to become judges!

For several years now, the Salon du livre de Montreuil has had its own TV channel! On the program: literary broadcasts, drawing lessons, meetings on children's literature, publishing news flashes, animated exhibitions... 4 stages (literary, comics, voice and decoding) will host conferences, debates, events and readings, and you can meet your favorite authors at the stands of their publishing houses.

As every year, there will be plenty of activities for children and older visitors alike, with a special area reserved for professionals and students interested in the world of publishing.
