Attention design fans and compulsive Pinterest users - Matter and Shape returns to Jardin des Tuileries from March 7 to 10, 2025 for a second edition that promises a unique panorama of contemporary design, alongside Fashion Week. With a cross-disciplinary, avant-garde approach, this hybrid show, helmed by Matthieu Pinet (WSN) and staged by Dan Thawley, mixes industrial design, furniture, fashion and decorative arts right in the heart of Paris.
As you'll have gathered, design isn't a wallflower here - it's on full display! More than 50 exhibitors, from big names to emerging talents, will occupy two 5,000 m² ephemeral pavilions, designed by Willo Perron (of the Perron-Roettinger studio). From iconic pieces to cutting-edge experiments and nuggets from young designers, this design show is the XXL moodboard of tomorrow's trends;
This 2025 edition resonates with the centenary of the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, which marked the history of design and gave birth to the Art Deco movement. The Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau, designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Amédée Ozenfant, inspires the event by celebrating the harmony between nature and urbanism, a leitmotif of the show.
Inside, bespoke stands, a bookshop, a design boutique, and WE ARE ONA's signature pop-up restaurant, designed to tantalize taste buds as much as pupils. Rumor has it that a renowned chef will be in the kitchen... Suspense!
Once again this year, the event will feature a rich and engaging program, including the return of the Jil Sander Design Talks, a series of discussions with industry experts (designers and architects) on the major challenges facing design: sustainability, craftsmanship and new aesthetics. These talks, in partnership with KoozArch, will be available as podcasts to extend the experience beyond the show.
From March 6, 2025, Matter and Shape will be spreading happenings and installations throughout Paris thanks to its Hors Les Murs program. A foretaste of the show in the capital's most arty spots.
Curious and passionate visitors can now buy their entry badge on the official Matter and Shape website. A combined pass that will also open the doors to the Première Classe salon, its neighbor dedicated to fashion.
In short, in March, design takes center stage in the heart of Paris!
