Otaku Matsuri Festival: diving into the heart of Japanese culture in La Courneuve (93)

Japan invites itself back to La Courneuve for the 2ᵉ edition of the Otaku Matsuri Festival, a free, festive day dedicated to Nipponese culture, from manga to traditional arts. See you on May 24, 2025 at the Médiathèque Aimé Césaire for an afternoon rich in discoveries, driven by young enthusiasts.

Japan is back in La Courneuve, for the second edition of the Otaku Matsuri Festival, organized by the AB S'aider association. Lovers of this Asian culture can take advantage of a festive day designed for young people to discover the many facets of Japan, from manga to traditional arts. Join us on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Médiathèque Aimé Césaire, for an afternoon of free admission!

The festival is part of the Otaku Project, an educational and cultural program initiated by young Courneuviens with a passion for Japanese animation, video games and culture. After a first trip to Japan in 2024, the young organizers are already preparing their participation in the Osaka World Expo 2025.

On the program: cultural workshops with sashiko embroidery, Gunpla making, Go game, origami, linocut, ikebana floral art, soroban abacus, performances and demonstrations including a Taiko drumming concert, a Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero tournament, a photography exhibition, the screening of the video report on the trip to Japan, a photo area with an immersive decor, and Japanese street-food to treat yourself to onigiri, dorayaki, matcha, maki, taiyaki...
