Paris-Saint-Germain are accustomed to leaving their recipe on the table in Coupe de France matches against smaller opponents, but this time, against Orléans in the Round of 16, there's no question of it. Why this decision?

This year's Coupe de France will once again offer some great footballing moments! After beating US Revel 9 goals to 0, Paris-Saint-Germain is set to face Orléans in the round of 16 this Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 8:45pm. But for once, the Parisian club, top of Ligue 1, doesn 't intend to leave its takings to its National League opponents. Normally, PSG donates all ticket profits from the match to their smaller rivals in the Coupe de France, but this Saturday is an exception to the rule!

After doubts about the match venue, it's now the price of tickets that's causing problems. Due to the state of the soccer pitch, which has Luis Enrique worried, the Round of 16 was almost played at the Parc des Princes. Although it will now take place at the Stade de la Source in Orléans, ticket prices for visitors are considered unacceptable by fans. Parisians are being asked to pay almost 60 euros to travel to the stadium, which is far more than they would pay for a Coupe de France match!

Paris-Saint-Germain has therefore decided to pay half the price of these tickets for its supporters, a fine gesture, while the club's Ultras prefer to boycott the match. According to L'Équipe, the Parisian club does not intend to leave its share of the revenue, estimated at 120,000 euros, as Orléans has professional rather than amateur status.
