Soccer: Luis Enrique to coach Paris-Saint-Germain this season

Following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, former OGC Nice coach Christophe Galtier took over the reins for the 2022-2023 season. This was followed by a very complicated year of ups and downs in the second half of the season, which led to Galtier's departure, preceded by those of Ramos and Messi. Several names were mooted as possible replacements, but Luis Enrique finally signed on, on a two-year contract, Paris-Saint-Germain announced on Wednesday!

While Zidane was not even being considered this year, the names of Nagelsmann or Mourinho had circulated, before settling on Luis Enrique, former Spanish player and renowned coach, winner of the Champions League in 2016 with FC Barcelona and finalist in the Nations League in 2021 with the Spanish team. An arrival that gives hope to the fans, while the mercato seems to have already begun, with the arrival of Skriniar, Ugarte, Ndour and Asensio. The new coach will have to rebuild an entire team if he is to have any hope of a better year than the last.

And the summer promises to be another eventful one, with the Mbappé dossier. After having extended his contract, the Parisian player could well be sold! He would then have to be replaced, a recruit who is hard to find on the transfer market at the moment... Luis Enrique's appointment took some time to be made official, as the contract between Christophe Galtier and PSG, who was due to take over for two years at the head of the team and is currently embroiled in a racism scandal, had to be terminated. Let's hope we don't have to repeat the experience next year!
