After a very complicated campaign in the first stage of this new version of the Champions League, Paris-Saint-Germain surprisingly defeated top-ranked Liverpool in the Round of 16, before going on to a disappointing double-header against Aston Villa, proving that with the Parisians, nothing is ever certain. However, they did reach the semi-finals, again against an English club, Arsenal, on April 29 and May 7, 2025, with a return match at the Parc des Princes, to perhaps finally reach the final!
As a reminder, the club from La Capitale had already come up against Arsenal in the group stage, and did not fare so well, losing 2-0. This time, they will have to be particularly wary, as the English club have eliminated from the competition no less than Real Madrid, who were well behind.
A serious first match at the Emirates Stadium will be crucial to any hopes of a home win, but the Paris-Saint-Germain players must avoid the Aston Villa scenario, which resembled a remontada and had fans worried right up to the last minute. On the other hand, Arsenal will have the same desire as PSG, who have never won the Champions League either!
Under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, who will have taken them to the semi-finals twice, Paris-Saint-Germain will be hoping this year is the one! You can watch the match live from 9pm on Canal+, at home or in the bars of the capital, or for the lucky ones, directly at the Parc on the way back! If the Parisians go through, the final will take place against FC Barcelona or Inter Milan. An exciting prospect!
