Blandy-lès-Tours to Provins! The first edition of this brand-new
marathon promises to be exceptional and festive, and is open to all brave athletes who would like to try this
medieval marathon, for which you are invited to come dressed in a costume related to the
Middle Ages.
This marathon links two medieval towns on the same historic plain: Blandy-lès-Tours, home to a medieval castle designated as a historic monument, with Provins, a UNESCO-listed medieval city renowned as a bustling trading hub of the Champagne Fairs. The start is near the Blandy castle, signaling a roughly 40-kilometer rural route through charming villages, ending at the Porte Saint-Jean.

The events on the program
For those who’d prefer not to tackle a full marathon, several alternative routes will be organized for the whole family, and a host of festivities will showcase local crafts and products.
- Medieval online marathon: solo or relay in teams of 6, from Blandy-les-Tours to Provins, passing through 14 towns and six medieval districts.
- Semi-marathon: 21.1 km loop around Blandy-les-Tours, crossing 4 towns and a 1.3 km medieval sector.
- Knights’ Race: on the grounds of Blandy Castle and Provins.
- Kids’ Race: on the grounds of Blandy Castle and Provins.
You can register now, with entry fees ranging from 7 euros for the shortest course to 67 euros for the medieval marathon. Moreover, a portion of the marathon’s proceeds will support projects to restore local medieval heritage.
