During the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the 50-meter Olympic swimming pool at Paris La Défense Arena became the stage for remarkable performances by Léon Marchand and other French swimming stars. But naturally, it wasn't built just for the Games — as a lasting legacy of Paris 2024, this state-of-the-art facility is set to become a permanent fixture in Sevran. Starting from January 31, 2026, it will serve local residents and schoolchildren, enriching the community long after the Olympics have ended.
Rebranded as Aquarena, the former swimming pool has been completely renovated and tripled in size. It now features a large Olympic-sized pool with a depth of 2 meters and 10 lanes, equipped with a movable floor to create varying depths and accommodate multiple activities simultaneously. Outside, there's a 25-meter outdoor pool set within a lush green space, suitable for the whole family, with depths ranging from 1 meter to 2.10 meters. The complex also offers a wellness and fitness area with amenities such as hammams, saunas, jacuzzis, massage jets, and a solarium. Additional features include an audience area that can host up to 200 spectators and an outdoor snack bar for visitors to relax and recharge.
For this special public opening, the swimming pool welcomes visitors from 2:30 p.m. onwards to explore the facilities, featuring a host of activities. Plus, you'll have the chance to meet Maxime Grousset and Yoann Ndoye-Brouard! This project keeps the spirit of the Paris Olympics alive long after the Games and will enable thousands of children in Seine-Saint-Denis to learn how to swim and enjoy access to top-quality training conditions.
