An unusual dinosaur race in Val-d'Oise

Following on from the Valentine's Day Run, the Santa Claus Run and the Color Run, there's a new and unusual race to enjoy with family and friends in the Paris region. This winter, the town of Deuil-la-Barre, located in the Val-d'Oise, is announcing a dinosaur race.

Launched in the United States, this dinosaur race combines originality and sporting performance, all in a friendly, offbeat atmosphere. To discover or take part in this original race in the Val-d'Oise, scheduled for Saturday March 9, 2024, while the start of this dinosaur race will be at 3:30pm at the Coulée Verte in Deuil-la-Barre (38, rue du Moutier) and will reach the salle des fêtes located avenue Schaeffer.

In other good news, the town of Deuil-la-Barre has announced that dinosaur costumes will be available for the first 30 registrants. Reservations can be made by telephone on 01 34 28 66 12/14. For the others, you'll have to go to a masquerade costume store to find the right outfit.

This dinosaur race is part of the"Jurassic Deuil" event, scheduled in the Val-d'Oise town from Saturday March 9 to Sunday March 24, 2024. The story of this link between dinosaurs and the commune of Deuil-la-Barre goes back to 2017. That year, the Museum of Lourinhã (a Portuguese town twinned with Deuil-La Barre) presented a first approach to its research on dinosaurs and the Upper Jurassic period.

Seven years later, as part of the 40th anniversary of the twinned town's museum, these dinosaurs return to Deuil-la-Barre for two weeks with a host of events. Film and documentary screenings, exhibitions on Paleolithic artefacts and the Lourinhanosaurus trail, a conference on the image of the dinosaur, a popcorn movie based on " Jurassic Park " and a symphony concert... the"Jurassic Deuil" event promises to be rich and varied.
