A picnic to the sounds of New Orleans jazz at the Clairefontaine Chapel

A starry evening, a picnic in the park of a former monastery, and a free concert for everyone: this is the festive date the Chapelle de Clairefontaine offers us this Friday, June 19, 2026. The Yvelines’ contemporary art center organizes the fourth edition of its musical picnic this summer.

The Chapelle de Clairefontaine sits in the Chevreuse Valley, near Rambouillet and the famed football training center. This former chapel was once tied to a monastery. Today, the venue has been converted into a contemporary art center and regularly hosts exhibitions, performances, screenings, and concerts...

To kick off summer, La Chapelle invites you to gather from 7:30 p.m. this Friday for a special program. With family or friends, come settle in for a convivial picnic. Bring your blanket or your sun lounger, and your best homemade sandwiches. You can also buy food on site from a food truck offering shareable boards, drinks, and desserts. A local caterer provides meal baskets for the evening, available by registration (more information on the tourist office site.)

After this communal meal, it's time for music! A free concert for everyone has us dancing until nightfall. This year, the band Les Alligators is bringing the party to Parc de la Chapelle. The jazz old-school from New Orleans crosses oceans, with revivals of songs by the great jazz musicians of the 1910s to 1930s. It's going to swing!
