As part of the Van Gogh at Auvers-sur-Oise exhibition, the Musée d'Orsay is hosting an exceptional hip-hop performance from January 18 to 20, 2024, bringing to life the correspondence between the painter and his brother Theo.

While the painter Van Gogh is honored in an exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay until February 2024, several artists from the French hip-hop scene take over the museum for a few evenings, from January 18 to 20, 2024, for a complete artistic performance, between dance, DJing, graffiti and public speaking, that visually recounts the correspondence at the end of his life between Vincent Van Gogh and his brother Theo.

Vincent et Théo, les derniers mots" questions Vincent van Gogh's contradictions, and highlights the precursory and contemporary nature of the artist's preoccupations with the commodification of art and his periods of melancholy. Cyril Machenaud's staging brings together four hip-hop disciplines in an original hybrid creation, modernizing the painter's vision through dance, rap and street-art, with Les Gamal, DJ Junkaz Lou, Marko 93 and Souleymane Diamanka.

Back inNovember 2023, the Musée d'Orsay hosted a weekend of hip-hop festivities, demonstrating the Parisian institution's openness to art of all kinds. This time, the museum is teaming up with La Place, Paris' hip-hop cultural center, to offer us an unforgettable experience.
