Les Poupées Persanes, nominated 4 times for the Molières du théâtre 2023, a ceremony at which it won 2 awards, is back in Paris at Théâtre La Pépinière. Aïda Asgharzadeh 's play had previously been presented at the Théâtre des Béliers in Paris and at the Festival Off d'Avignon in 2021 and 2022, as well as on tour.
The play follows the journey of two generations, alternating between the past in Iran and the present in France. Les Poupées Persanes tells the story of three siblings who, after leaving Iran to settle in France, seek to find a balance between their Iranian roots and their life in the West. The plot tackles questions of cultural heritage, family transmission and the quest for freedom in the prestigious Théâtre La Pépinière.

Winner of the Best Supporting Actress award for Kamel Isker and the Best Living Francophone Author award for Aïda Asgharzadeh, the play explores the themes of identity, culture and the female condition through the stories of Persian women characters. Aïda Asgharzadeh 's poignant text has won rave reviews from critics and press alike, and explores the different facets of the female condition, as well as the influence of family heritage. Directed by Régis Vallée, the cast alternates between Aïda Asgharzadeh, Garance Bocobza, Kamel Isker, Léa Issert, Azize Kabouche, Toufan Manoutcheri, Sylvain Mossot and Geoffrey Palisse. Les Poupées persanes runs at Théâtre La Pépinière from September 6, 2024 to November 2, 2024.
